Autodromo
United States · Founded 2011
Founded in New York City in 2011 by industrial designer Bradley Price (concept work began around 2008), after Price -- driving his own Alfa Romeo GTV6 through the Hudson Valley -- was struck by the typography of the car's tachometer and envisioned it reimagined as a wristwatch dial. Autodromo makes motorsport-heritage-inspired watches (rally, endurance racing, Grand Prix) that Price describes as evoking 'a certain time and place' rather than being direct copies of vintage instruments; he states 'they are never direct copies.' The brand has collaborated directly with racing figures Vic Elford and Brian Redman on named Prototipo chronograph editions, and became the officially licensed watch partner for the Ford GT, producing a Ford GT Endurance Chronograph (and a related Owners Edition) under license from Ford Motor Company honoring Ford's Le Mans heritage. Price himself races a 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce in vintage competition, and Autodromo sponsors the Lime Rock Park Historics event. Beyond watches, the brand sells driving gloves, apparel, leather goods, and other automotive-lifestyle accessories.
