Bremont

United Kingdom · Founded 2002

Founded 2002 by brothers Nick and Giles English in Henley-on-Thames, England. Brand name honours Antoine Bremont, a French farmer who sheltered the brothers after an emergency biplane landing in the late 1990s; the venture followed the 1995 death of their father Euan English (ex-RAF pilot, aeronautical engineer) in a flying accident that also badly injured Nick. Positioned around aviation heritage and tool-watch durability; COSC or ISO 3159 chronometer-rated movements, hand-assembled in the UK. Opened a 35,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, 'The Wing', near Henley-on-Thames in 2021 (reported cost over GBP 25 million; capacity up to ~50,000 watches/year, current output reported around 10,000/year). Ownership: in 2023 investor Bill Ackman (Pershing Square) and Hellcat Acquisitions invested GBP 48.4 million for majority control; Nick and Giles English initially stayed on as non-executive directors, then in April 2025 Bremont announced they were no longer board members but remain brand ambassadors. Notable collaborations/partnerships over the brand's history include Martin-Baker (ejection seats, MB/Altitude MB Meteor lines), Jaguar, Boeing, Williams F1, and Land Rover BAR. Confirmed via bremont.com About page, Wikipedia (Bremont Watch Company), and general trade-press coverage of the 2023 Ackman investment and 2025 board change; exact current annual production/revenue figures are trade-press estimates, not audited disclosures, so treat those specific numbers as approximate.
