Corum

Switzerland · Founded 1955

Swiss manufacture founded in 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by René Bannwart and Gaston Ries. Known for design-forward pieces rather than in-house movement volume: the square-cased, later nautical-flag-dialed Admiral's Cup (debuted 1960), the rectangular baguette-movement Golden Bridge (patent acquired from Vincent Calabrese, launched 1980), the oversized domed-crystal Bubble (2000), and coin-cased watches dating to 1964. Ownership passed through Severin Wunderman's group and then China's Citychamp Watch & Jewellery Group (2013), before a Swiss management buy-out led by CEO Haso Mehmedovic returned the company to Swiss hands in April 2025.
