South Bend Watch Company
United States · Founded 1905 · No longer in production
Formed after members of the Studebaker automobile family bought the Columbus Watch Company's assets in 1903 and relocated to South Bend, Indiana; full-scale commercial assembly at the new plant didn't begin until March 1905. The Depression forced what was announced as a temporary holiday shutdown in late 1929; the factory never reopened, and asset liquidation was finished by 1933.
